Day 13
NAME: AL-BARI

“He is Allah , the Creator (Khaliq), the Inventor (Bari), the Fashioner (Musawwir); to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” [59:24]

This name is mentioned 3 times in the Qur’an. This name is similar to Khaliq, and it means creator, originator, the only one who gave us distinct characteristics. Khaliq means inventor; Bari means that Allah is the one that invented everything, Allah is the one the origniated everything. Any inventor that claims to ‘invent’ a new device or new machinery is not really a Bari, because they used already present materials to make it. Only Allah is the ultimate inventor, who created every single atom, molecule, and materials from which we humans then “invent” stuff from. 

Today we live in a scientific world. Take a look at atheists, many of them claim to believe in science. I’ve noticed that alot of professors I’ve met really don’t have any religion. Scientists think that they can do anything sometimes even though really the more we as humans try to figure out of this dunya, the more we’ll realize that there is too much to know. 

Allah tells us in the Qur’an, “O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued.” [22:73] BAM!! SubhanAllah, Allahu Akbar :) 

I think it was a couple of years back when there was this huge news of the creation of the first test tube baby, it made headlines and all that. ‘Creation of a test tube baby’ makes it seem as if they actually took the ingredients and made it, but wrong, they took an ovum, and sperm and put in a dish, creating the zygote, then implanting it back into the woman’s womb. Humans love love love to give credit to themselves but rather they are not the creators. We are not the root to anything. Allah is the one who creates, the one who everything goes back to, all credit, All we humans do is use what Allah has made, tweak it a little bit and try to take credit but credit belongs to Allah alone.
